Just Upgraded to 128GB in Z7 R2 and now laptop won't boot. Sep 22, 2021
You just upgraded your RAM to the maximum capacity of 128GB in your Eurocom Sky Z7 R2 but now your notebook will not boot. It starts but just runs and runs and never boots up.
This has been identified an a re-occurring problem when upgrading your notebook to 4 x 32GB stick of RAM
The way to fix this issue is to add your RAM one stick at a time. If you doing a major upgrade in RAM sometimes the system resources are overwhelmed by the large change. Simply put on stick of 32GB of RAM in your notebook and start your notebook. Then shut off your notebook and add a second stick and re-start. Then do the same with the 3rd and 4th.
This will allow your system to use the systems resources to identify and use the large 32GB sticks of RAM.

Sky Z7 R2: How to setup RAID? Jun 15, 2023
1/ Go to BIOS, select “Setup Utility”, choose ADVANCED, then go into the “Intel Rapid Storage Technology” menu and select what type of RAID (0/1/5) you would like and which drives you would like to run in RAID setup.
2/ Once that is done, when installing Windows, the system would require to load additional drivers to initialize the drive(s). Drivers are located on the provided USB key in subdirectory of “ X170KM-G DRIVER 1.07.04\OPTIONS\RAID\F6FLPY-X64\" Once those drivers are loaded, you should be able to see the RAID when installing Windows O/S
3/ Please also note that if the system is set in RAID mode and you decide to switch to NONE RAID mode then everything on the drive becomes unusable. That is why you have to make the decision what RAID setup you want before installing Operating System / Windows.

Sky Z7 R2: Running RAID 0/1/5 with PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSDs Sep 22, 2021
Sky Z7 R2 has four M.2 slots for storage. Three of the M.2 slots are NVMe PCIe 3.0 and one M.2 is NVMe PCIe 4.0. The PCIe 4.0 slot can utilize the faster PCIe Gen4 SSDs.
This single PCIe PCIe 4.0 SSD cannot be included in any type of RAID setup on your Laptop. Only the 3 NVMe PCIe 3.0 drive can be used in RAID 0/1/5 RAID.
The reason for this is that the technology used in the PCIe 4.0 slot is not compatible with the PCIe 3.0 based SSDs to be together in a RAID array.
