Can I upgrade my non G-Sync laptop to NVIDIA G-Sync technology? Jun 11, 2015
Unfortunately Not. In order for a laptop to support NVIDIA G-Sync it must come G-Sync enabled with G-Sync parts namely: 1) G-Sync version of NVIDIA GPU 2) G-Sync version LCD Panel 3) G-Sync version of the motherboard 4) G-Sync BIOS/EC 5) G-Sync NVIDIA drivers
What is G-Sync? G-Sync is a proprietary adaptive sync technology created by NVidia to eliminate screen tearing and the need for software deterrents such as Vsync. G-Sync eliminates screen tearing by forcing a video display to adapt to the frame rate of the outputting device rather than the other way around, which could traditionally be refreshed halfway through the process of a frame being output by the device, resulting in two frames being shown at once. In order for a device to use G-Sync, it must contain a proprietary G-Sync module sold by NVidia.
